KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 — Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor have reportedly arranged a private jet to take them to Indonesia, according to the Malaysiakini news portal.

Quoting sources, it confirmed that the former “first” couple are due to depart from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang at 10am tomorrow on a plane bound for Jakarta.

The source close to Najib said the latter and Rosmah were just going for a brief holiday and were assured of returning.

“Everyone has the flight schedule... So they can go and check if he is fleeing with bags of money and stuff…” the source added.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s Pakatan Harapan (PH) defeated Najib’s Barisan Nasional (BN) in a fiercely-fought general election on Wednesday.

Dr Mahathir was sworn in as the country’s seventh prime minister last night and announced plans today to reopen investigations into 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) that is the brainchild of Najib.

Najib earlier attended a sombre celebration for Umno’s 72nd anniversary at the Putra World Trade Centre this evening.
