SHAH ALAM, May 3 — Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz delivered a response today after a PAS leader was reported dreaming about his late father, but limping with a leg missing, after the former’s candidacy for Pakatan Harapan (PH) was announced.

The cleric who joined Parti Amanah Negara had mocked those who claimed to have been dreaming about political and religious leaders in the run-up to the election.

“Someone sent a viral message, saying that there’s this person who dreamt about Tok Guru,” he related in a ceramah here, referring to the late PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

“Afterall, isn’t it the dream season now? It’s the season where the angels descend. Angels descend in droves, that too! God willing!” he said, to laughter and cheers from the crowd.

“So this person said, he too dreamt to have met Tok Guru, and [the latter] was so relaxed, and was walking with just a T-shirt. What’s weird is that the T-shirt had Tun Mahathir’s picture at the back of it!” Nik Omar sarcastically said, to more laughter from the crowd.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is the chairman of PH, who had been Nik Aziz’s political nemesis but has since led the Opposition.

Nik Omar was responding to a question from an audience, who had asked him to elaborate on the remark of caretaker Kelantan deputy mentri besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah on the dream.

Mohd Amar had earlier this week reportedly said PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had dreamt about Nik Aziz, who was limping without one leg, purportedly to symbolise the “loss” of Nik Omar, who quit PAS.

On Saturday, Nik Omar was nominated to contest his late father’s state seat of Chempaka in Kelantan under the PKR ticket, despite being a PAS member.

He was immediately sacked by the party, with secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan saying he had “brought shame” to the family with his decision.

Nik Omar’s younger brother Nik Muhammad Abduh is a PAS central committee member and its Bachok candidate.

The cleric is campaigning for PH in Klang Valley today: He was in Bangi this morning, in Shah Alam this afternoon, and will be in Putrajaya tonight.
