SEREMBAN, April 21 — Negri Sembilan Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan is confident that the manifesto launched this morning was an offer that is practical and implementable.

He said the manifesto, which outlines two major thrusts and 18 initiatives in facing the 14th General Election (GE14), took into account how the state revenue could be distributed to the people.

“The manifesto that I tabled and the federal manifesto, if implemented, will not affect the state’s and national economy.

“All strata of society are identified and have their own interests in the manifesto...so that everyone will enjoy prosperity and feel that their interests are being championed,” he told reporters after launching the Negri Sembilan BN Manifesto before 5,000 people, here today.

Also present were Umno Youth national head Khairy Jamaluddin, state MCA chairman Datuk Seri Lim Chin Fui and state MIC Liaison chairman Datuk L. Manickam.

Mohamad said the revenue gained from development projects in the state would be distributed to the people through various incentives proposed in the manifesto.

“For example, state government revenue from the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) project this year alone has exceeded the budget for the first three months.

“In the MVV there are 153,411 hectares that need to be developed, so just imagine the revenue to be earned by the state government via the MVV alone.

“Negri Sembilan is only a small state that does not need a high reserve and operational cost, that is why we will channel the surplus revenue into the development account which will be distributed directly to the people,” he said.

He said that in the manifesto, BN had introduced a new incentive aimed at prospering the people, including the RM550 Special Aid to couples intending to get married, additional subscription of RM50 into the Skim Amanah Dana Anak Malaysia 2050 and the RM1,000 death aid for every citizen in the state.

In addition, the existing incentives would also be continued and improved such as the special aid for those born in the state who continued their studies at the university amounting to RM1,000 at the bachelor’s degree level and RM500 at the diploma level. — Bernama
