“I urge all citizens in this country to give their support by signing the petition which would be sent to the Nepal Ambassador to Malaysia for the transfer of Marina to a prison here.

Marina was arrested at 7 pm on April 6, 2015 by authorities at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal after she found trying to smuggle 11 kg of cocaine.

Chong, who is also Deputy Education Minister and Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Seremban parliamentary constituency, said the matter had been discussed with Deputy Foreign Minister (Datuk Seri Reezal  Merican Naina Merican) and Deputy Home Minister (Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed) to bring Marina home before Parliament was dissolved recently.

“We are trying our best to use whatever means, including the exchange of prisoners, to bring Marina back,” he said.
