SEREMBAN, April 11 — The Negri Sembilan Barisan Nasional (BN) is confident Felda settlers will continue to support the party in the 14th general election (GE14).
Its chairman, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who is also mentri besar, said the government led by Datuk Seri Najib Razak had implemented various initiatives for residents in Felda settlements.
“I am confident that Felda settlers are still with the government although many quarters are trying to dispel Felda’s confidence in BN.
“Furthermore, Najib has announced a number of packages that are very close to the hearts of Felda settlers, including the annual bonus,” he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting, here today.
Commenting on related developments, Mohamad said Felda’s second-generation homes in Felda Pasoh and Felda Pasir Besar, would be handed over to their owners soon.
He said the state government would also cooperate with the Felda authorities to ensure that the implementation of Felda’s second generation housing projects in the state could be expedited.
“The state government has also given permission for children of Felda settlers to build their houses next to the site of their parents’ homes.
“They could not do this before and I believe this can reduce the burden of Felda’s second generation to own a home,” he said. — Bernama
