BEAUFORT, Feb 24 — The state government is very concerned over the need to build and upgrade school buildings in creating conducive learning environment for school children in Sabah, said Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman.

He said the government was still working on upgrading and constructing school buildings throughout Sabah to ensure that every school could accommodate the increasing number of students each year.

“Education plays a key role in the development of future human capital and although this is the responsibility of the federal government, the state government would also do its part in promoting teaching and learning at all levels.

“This is evident from the yearly financial assistance given to private and missionary schools for the purpose of school repair and maintenance works,” he said at the ground breaking ceremony of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) St. Paul, here today.
