KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 — Co-working space provider Colony is offering a RM10,000 fee to anyone who refers a candidate the firm eventually recruits.

Calling it an indication of the vicious competition for quality hires, the firm said the move was to support Colony’s long-term expansion plans.

“At Colony, we believe that our success lies in our ability to revolutionise our guests’ working experience, which ultimately comes down to the people we have working both behind the scenes and at the front of the office day-in and day-out.

“Getting talented and passionate individuals who fit our culture has always been a core focus for us, which is why we’re excited about this initiative to help us find the best people who will drive Colony’s success going forward,” Colony executive director Timothy Tiah said in a statement.

The offer is open to everyone, with no restrictions on nationality or ties to the firm.

Colony said the offer will last for a month, but may be repeated in the future.

Malaysia is currently at full employment, but firms here complain regularly about the scarcity of suitably-qualified employees in the local talent pool.
