PETALING JAYA, Feb 4 — A 55-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend at the latter’s house in Pandamaran, Klang, was a former drug addict.

South Klang police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli said the deceased was revealed to have 12 previous convictions, mostly drug offences.

Shamsul said the 51-year-old suspect, who had a walking disability, lived alone for the past eight years and stayed 500m away from his friend’s house.

Initial investigations showed the suspect had four previous convictions in drug and theft offences.

The suspect has been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations.

The deceased had gone to his friend’s house in the evening but stumbled out of the house injured before a neighbour took notice and rushed him to the hospital yesterday.

Police subsequently arrested the suspect after his friend was pronounced dead upon arrival, succumbing to a chest wound yesterday.

The alleged murder weapon was also confiscated. Police believe the murder was over the deceased’s knack for annoying his friends.
