Woman burnt to death in car crash

SANDAKAN,  Feb 2 — A woman was burnt to death when the car she was travelling in burst into flames in a road crash near Wisma Yun Cheong Loong at Batu 9 Jalan Labuk near here early today.

According to a statement issued by the Operations Centre of the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department , the victim, in her 30s, was a passenger in the car.

It said firemen from the Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 4.20am involving a car which skidded and then crashed into an unoccupied house by the roadside before bursting into flames   .

However, the 30-year-old car driver, managed to get out of the car in time. — Bernama
