PETALING JAYA, Feb 2 — A supervisor’s attempt to seduce a female subordinate into having sex led to his assault by the woman’s father and family in Putrajaya last night.

The incident also sparked a larger brawl in which some assailants attacked others with sticks.

Police arrested nine people, aged 21 to 49, including two women following the incident.

Putrajaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Rosly Hassan said the incident stemmed from the 29-year-old supervisor’s message soliciting sexual intercourse from his 22-year-old colleague.

“After having sent the message, the woman’s father, boyfriend, and other family members had gone to confront and question the victim over the message, at the Domino’s Pizza outlet in Precinct 11.

“The conversation then ignited into a full on fight, where the victim and his two friends clashed with the father, boyfriend, and their two other accomplices,” he said.

Rosly said the victim claimed he was assaulted by the father and accomplices with a wooden stick supposedly taken from the neighbouring restaurant.

“At this point, investigators have yet to retrieve the apparent weapon,” he said.

Rosly said police were alerted around 11.20pm, and arrived at the scene shortly after and rounded up the suspects.

“We arrested the victim and his two friends for their involvement in the brawl, along with the female colleague, her father and his accomplices,” he said.

Rosly said the victim and his two friends, who suffered bruises and cuts to their noses, foreheads, and arms, later received treatment at the Hospital Putrajaya.

Police have urged witnesses of the incident to come forward and channel information to them, as the case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for possessing a weapon during a riot.
