It was understood she is being detained for abetment as she did not report the alleged abuse although she was aware of it.

Ampang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Hamzah Alias said the extension was to allow investigators more time to interview several more witnesses.

The girls who were allegedly sexually abused by the male caretaker are said to be between 10 and 12 years old.

The man was arrested in Klang on January 4 following a molest complaint filed against him by one of the victims in Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur.

A 12-year-old girl staying at the home told her mother she had been raped by the man. This subsequently led to the uncovering of several other alleged sexual assaults by the male caretaker.
