KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 — There has been no formal report lodged so far with the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) over a building cleaner allegedly caught hurling objects from the fourth floor of an apartment earlier this month.

An MBSA spokesman told Malay Mail the council would instead leave the next course of action to the police.

“We have yet to receive reports complaining about someone throwing items off a building.

“The council will leave investigations of such actions to the police,” he said.

This comes following an old Facebook post purportedly showing a woman being reprimanded for throwing items from the fourth floor of the Seroja apartments in Setia Alam there.

The post was uploaded on January 2 but gained traction following the tragedy of S. Sathiwaran, a 15-year-old was killed after he was hit by a falling chair on Monday.

The husband of the Facebook user who uploaded the video, Mohd Edie Azhar Mohammad, 32, told Malay Mail he had gone to report the woman’s actions to the building’s joint management body (JMB) on the day of the incident itself.

“We informed the management, but later a staff came to the woman and just advised her to not repeat her actions and did not do much after.

“I saw the cleaner the next day, which suggests no direct action was taken,” he said.

He also said he had not lodged a police report since he did not want to blow the case out of proportion.

“I had also thought the authorities would take the necessary action once I reported it to the JMB, but seems like not much has been done,” he said.

Mohd Edie added the original post started getting more shares after Monday’s incident.

“My wife posted about the incident and no one noticed it, until much later, after the tragedy involving the teenager,” he said.

The original Facebook post by a user named Cma Sima showed a woman accused of throwing several objects from the balcony in a corridor of an apartment building in Setia Alam.

In a nearly one-minute video, the woman was shown apologising to the camera, as she tried to explain herself.

She was seen reasoning with the person behind the camera, saying she only threw objects after making sure no one was around.
