PETALING JAYA, Jan 17 -- Pastor Raymond Koh’s wife said she was again disappointed by the lack of communication between the police and her family regarding investigations outcome on her husband’s abduction.

Susanna Liew was referring to the latest development in which a man named Lam Chang Nam was charged yesterday at the magistrates court here under Section 365 of the Penal Code for kidnapping.

In a statement today, she said her family was unaware of the charge and only learned about it after the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) had made the announcement that they were suspending their inquiry into Koh's abduction.

She said despite her son Jonathan Koh appearing multiple times as a witness in court, her family was left in the dark by the authorities.

Liew added the move to halt Suhakam's inquiry was interference by the police.

"The authorities did not attempt to inform me or my children about the new lead to the case.

“This was the pattern with the former Inspector-General of Police last year. I personally had hopes with the new police chief that things would change for the better," she said.

Liew also said she hoped that inquiry into the other cases would continue without any kind of disruption or interference so that the truth would surface.

"I am grateful at least the key witnesses have already testified at the inquiry into my husband’s abduction.

“To my knowledge before this announcement, Lam was arrested in March last year, with the help of my son Jonathan Koh,” she said.

Lam then was charged under Section 285(3) which is related to extortion.

Jonathan was summoned to appear as a witness at the case in November last year and summoned again for the same case in February 2018. On both summonses, the case was cited for extortion.

Liew also said that if the police were unable to prove the arrest of Lam represented a step forward in Koh’s mysterious disappearance, she would request for further explanation.

“If the police are unable to prove that this is truly an authentic lead into my husband’s abduction, then I will be bringing this up with them again, and I will require proper answer.

"Since I am Raymond’s wife, I have the right to know what happened to him,” she said.
