PETALING JAYA, May 19 — Any parties attempting to “undermine” the stability of the Selangor state government are “enemies” of the state and of PKR, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said today.

Azmin, who is Selangor Mentri Besar and PKR deputy president, did not refer to any individual or party in particular, but said that there are parties who are “jealous” of the success and stability of the state government.

The Selangor administration comprising PKR, PAS and the DAP is under the spotlight after PAS decided to sever ties with PKR, raising questions about the status of the three serving PAS state executive councillors in the state administration, as well as the status of PAS representatives in forming the state government.

“There are those who want to undermine our stability and success. We must defend our fort (Selangor),” Azmin told PKR members while launching the PKR Youth and Wanita Congress here today.

“These people are the traitors of the people’s trust, and they are our enemies,” he added.

At a press conference later, Azmin refused to state if his remarks were directed at any party in particular.

He also reiterated that the Selangor state government was “not in crisis” and once again dismissed reports that the state government might be toppled in the ongoing uncertainty.

Azmin said that he would “not allow” any other party or individual to hold PKR “to ransom”.

However, Azmin stressed that he is still in the process of setting up a meeting with PAS leaders to discuss the situation.
