KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 — DAP’s Hannah Yeoh said today she was saddened by accusations that she had been using Christianity in carrying out her political duties.

The Selangor Speaker said she has lodged a police report together with DAP’s legal bureau chief, Gobind Singh Deo against a Facebook post accusing her of using Christianity in her politics.

“I am saddened by these irresponsible and defamatory allegations against the DAP and the racial and religious card is used once again as the general elections draw near.

“I have lodged a police report today and I leave it to the DAP legal bureau chief Gobind Singh Deo to advise me and the party on our legal recourse,” she said in a statement today.

The Facebook posting by Kamarul Yusoff had accused Yeoh of being a “hypocrite” and using religion as part of DAP’s propaganda campaign.

She denied all accusations and claimed that she never let her religion influence her political career negatively.

Yeoh also defended the DAP of having a “Malaysian agenda” instead of a Christian one.

Kamarul meanwhile in a Facebook posting said he was willing to take responsibility for the post and give his statements to the authorities.

He also claimed that he had proof of Yeoh’s Christianisation agenda and will be revealing it soon.

“I will reveal the relevant evidence and further proof that has not be exposed about her Christianisation agenda in politics,” his post read.
