KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 — Lim Kit Siang said he is working with former rival Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as they are both “patriots” fighting to “save” the country.

"Mahathir and I are acting as Malaysian patriots to join forces to save Malaysia from degenerating into a political and economic basket-case,” he said during a press conference at Parliament today.

He reiterated his denial that he was Dr Mahathir's stooge or vice versa.

The Gelang Patah MP then criticised the Utusan Malaysia newspaper for publishing a logo implying that he controlled Pakatan Harapan.

Lim said such tactics insulted the Malay community by suggesting that their leaders were subservient to others.
