KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 — The police sought today to summon a Facebook user who allegedly said Islam was not a religion of peace, in response to on-the-run preacher Dr Zakir Naik who described himself as a “messenger of peace”.

In the tweet, Khalid attached a screenshot of a Facebook user who responded to a Malay Mail Online article with the headline: “Zakir Naik: I’m a messenger of peace, my critics are terrorists”.
Khalid’s tweet is translated as: “@OfficialPcirc @PDRMsia Call up the person named below and ask him to explain what he meant by “Islam was never a religion of PEACE”.
The @OfficialPcirc Twitter account belongs to the police cyber investigation response centre of the Royal Malaysia Police, while @PDRMsia is the police’s official Twitter account.
Former MP Datuk Zulkifli Noordin was among those who had reported the user to Khalid with a tweet this morning.
Harap pihak PDRM & SKMM siasat posting ini & diambil tindakan sewajarnya krn jelas menghina Islam! pic.twitter.com/7ldweoUrTI

Yesterday, Malay Mail Online cited a Sinar Harian interview with controversial Indian televangelist Dr Zakir, who denied allegations that he was a terrorist and instead accused his critics of being “terrorists” instead.
The fugitive preacher is under investigation in India for alleged links to terrorism and money laundering.
