BUTTERWORTH, March 2 — The woman and a child found tied together on a beach in Teluk Bahang near here yesterday had died of drowning, Southwestern District Police chief Supt Anuar Omar confirmed.

He said the police had also classified the case as sudden death.  Anuar said the bodies were identified as Tan Li Gin, 21, and her two-year-old son, A. Eonithin, by her husband today.

“The post mortem report revealed that the woman was 11-week pregnant and that she and her son had died of drowning. No elements of foul play was found in the post mortem,” he told Bernama through WhatApps today.

The woman’s brother-in-law, who wanted to be known only as Eswaran, 24, said although Tan had a fight with his brother a few days earlier, she appeared to be unaffected.
