KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 — Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s support among Selangor residents rose to 62 per cent from 58 per cent last August, a state-owned think tank said today.

Institut Darul Ehsan (IDE) deputy chairman Professor Datuk Mohammad Redzuan Othman also said IDE’s survey on the perception of Selangor residents, which was conducted between February 8 and 13, found that support for Barisan Nasional (BN) worsened in the state.

“The results from this survey also indicate that the Pakatan coalition under the Mentri Besar’s leadership remains strong and is not expected to face many problems in retaining the state,” Redzuan said in a statement released by the Selangor mentri besar’s office.

“The rising trust of the people reflects his friendly approach towards Selangorians and his proactive stance together with the state leadership in resolving the people’s problems effectively. The survey also found that YB Datuk Mentri Besar is a people-friendly leader who goes down to the field and is capable of bringing development to Selangor,” he added.

IDE said its survey comprised 2,018 respondents in 56 state constituencies in Selangor, using its own apps.
