BALING, Nov 30 ― The mysterious disappearance of a goat belonging to a villager in Kampung Luar, Mukim Siong near here, was uncovered with the discovery of a python with a full stomach and weighing 100kg in a nearby swamp.
Goat owner Firdaus Abdullah, 34, said he had been searching all over for his goat since before he went to the swamp area and stumbled upon the python with full stomach and stretched about six metres in length.
“Its stomach was stretched and full and could barely move and I just knew that it must have devoured my goat,” he told Bernama when contacted here today.
Firdaus said this was the third times that his goats went missing and he strongly believed they were all eaten by snakes.
Meantime, Baling Civil Defence Force spokesperson Mohd Faizol Ab Aziz said the department received a call from the goat owner at about 7.55 pm before rushing to the scene.
He said it took the team 60 minutes to take out snake out due to its large size and the swamp’s soft ground.
The reptile will be handed over to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks for further action, he added. ― Bernama
