KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16— Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar has rubbished social media messages regarding reported road closures in the city due to the Bersih 5 rally this Saturday, The Star Online reported today.

Khalid said that the police have yet to issue any road closure notices as is being spread on social media.

“We have not issued anything on road closures yet,” he said.

A message listing roads that will supposedly close between 5am to 6pm on Saturday, November 19 has been making rounds on social media messaging services such as Whatsapp.

The roads stated are Jalan Kuching, Jalan Mahameru, Jalan Tun Ismail, Jalan Sultan Ismail Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Ipoh, Bulatan Pahang, Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz, Jalan Ampang, Jalan P.Ramlee, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Pasar, Jalan Dewan Bahasa, Jalan Loke Yew, Jalan Hang Tuah, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan Gereja.

It also advised people against wearing yellow or red clothing as to avoid confusion with authorities and protesters.

The Bersih 5 rally is scheduled to take place at the city centre, with the protesters aiming to march towards Dataran Merdeka.
