KUALA KANGSAR, Oct 6 ― Bukit Merah Laketown Resort Water Theme Park will only be opened after the Perak Health Department have the results of its second sample showing it is free of infection.

“We will allow them to reopen after we repeat the water samples and the results should be normal as they are using water from Lembaga Air Perak (LAP) and change to a new filter system,” said Perak Health director Datuk Dr Juita Ghazalie in a statement via whatsapp, today.

She also reminded visitors to wear appropriate clothing when entering swimming pools and to refrain from urinating as it may contaminate the water.

Bukit Merah Laketown Resort Water Theme Park was closed for 14 days from Sept 29 to enable the cleaning work of the park following several cases of acute gastroenteritis (AGE) infection and Rotavirus among some visitors.

As of yesterday, a total of 70 AGE cases were recorded in Kedah, Penang and Perak, with a total of 30 cases were confirmed positive Rotavirus. ― Bernama
