KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 — Following a heavy downpour this morning, the Kelana Jaya line experienced another service glitch during peak hour, leaving many commuters stranded on the train tracks.

Some commuters took to updating their Twitter feeds with photos of them walking on the tracks to the next station, after being forced to alight from their train coaches due to the glitch — the second time this week.

Twitter user @Nikkluqq posted on his account saying that the train was stalled after an emergency brake while on its way from the Datuk Keramat station to Damai stop.

“Lepas emergency brake, semua orang jatuh, kena keluar hatch telur Pokemon. Lulz.”

It was understood that the commuters had to walk to the stations in an evacuation process after the service disruption.

Commuters Aliff Hazwan and Noorul Shah Aman also vented their frustrations on their social media feeds.

“#Rapidkl problem lagi. Train on standstill between keramat&damai. Passengers get down walk on platform,” Noorul wrote.

RapidKL had at 7am announced via its official Twitter feed that the service glitch had occurred yet again before adding that services had resumed about an hour later.

However, some commuters took to Twitter to complain that they were still experiencing delays.

Two days ago, Light Rapid Transit (LRT) users were left fuming after a technical glitch caused them to be stranded at several stations between Gombak and Putra Heights during the peak hour rush.

Rapid KL official Twitter page @AskRapidKL was also inundated with a flurry of complaints over the repeated service disruption.

However, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) later in a statement said that the glitch was caused by a power trip on the LRT Kelana Jaya Line.

“TNB’s power supply for the line is in good working condition. Hope this clarification clears any misunderstanding, if any, on the cause of the power failure,” Bernama reported TNB saying.

The national news agency reported Kelana Jaya LRT Line chief operating officer Ismail Abdullah as saying that the glitches had forced RapidKL to “power down the line” at several stations in the city centre to attend to the situation that occurred at about 7am.
