BESUT, July 26 — Besut police have arrested 30-year-old man who was in possession of a pistol and four live bullets.
Besut police chief Supt Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi said the suspect was detained on July 16 behind an unnumbered house in Kampung Tok Saboh, Kuala Besut here.
He said while the man was being questioned, the suspect took out the pistol from his back and a struggle ensued.
“A check on the pistol found four live S & B 7.65BR bullets,” Mohd Zamri told a press conference after an Aidilfitri gathering at the state police headquarters in Kampung Raja here today.
He said initial investigations on the suspect found he had taken the pistol and the bullets from the car of his friend from Thailand when it was involved in an accident in Kelantan in November last year.
He said the suspect said his two friends were involved in stealing cars in Malaysia. — Bernama
