PUTRAJAYA, June 23 ― Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor break the fast with Umno leaders including from the Wanita, Youth, Puteri wings and friends in Seri Perdana here tonight.

Among those present were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, former Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang and Umno Wanita chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

Najib, who is also Umno president, also received cakes and yellow glutinous rice which were presented by the three Umno wings and his friends in conjunction with Father's Day on June 19. 

He and Rosmah also handed over contributions from the Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) to Mohd Norazman Azid to buy ear prosthesis.

Also receiving contribution from Bakti were Islamic Relief Malaysia, Malaysian Veteran Fire and Rescue Association, Ex-Policemen Association of Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur Orphan Children Welfare Association.

In addition, nine children received contributions from the World Children Welfare Fund which was set up to help children who were affected by all kinds of disaster including war, natural disaster, famine and poverty in Malaysia and the rest of the world.

Seventy orphans from two orphanages also received Hari Raya contributions from the prime minister and his wife.

After breaking the fast, Najib and his wife as well as guests performed the Maghrib, Isyak and Tarawih prayers. ― Bernama
