KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 — PKR’s Rafizi Ramli will be charged under the Official Secrets Act 1972 over his alleged distribution of an excerpt from the Auditor-General’s classified report on 1Malaysia Development Bhd, PKR said today.

The party said its secretary-general will be charged in the Sessions Court tomorrow for an offence under Section 8 of the Act, which covers the wrongful distribution of classified information.

If convicted, the Pandan MP may be imprisoned up to seven years.

Rafizi was arrested outside the Parliament guardhouse on Tuesday and is currently under remand until tomorrow at the Jinjang police detention centre.
