KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 — A Myanmar woman was found dead with a slash wound on the neck at a shophouse in Jalan BPU 1 Bandar Puchong Utama, today.

Subang Jaya police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli said Shing Haiyung, 31, was found lying in a room on the second floor of the shop house at 11.15am.

“Her face was covered with a blanket and two kitchen knives were found near the victim,” he said when contacted.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim a restaurant assistant had been working for nearly two years and lived with her husband in a room used as a dormitory for workers.

Yahaya said the victim’s husband was not at the scene because he was at work.

He said there are witnesses who saw the suspect holding a knife before the incident.

“The suspect, believed to be a male co-worker, who accused the victim of stealing his money amounting to RM5,000, has now disappeared,” said Yahaya.

He said efforts to track down the 33-year-old suspect is underway. — Bernama
