KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 4 — Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) will set up a customer care centre to address any complaints about products sold at its all-Bumiputera digital mall, federal minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri announced today.

Despite the announcement, the rural and regional development minister said claims that vendors at the mall sell fake goods, or would not provide post-sales services, are untrue as the authenticity of products sold there are guaranteed by the ministry itself.

“We will place MARA officers here and also from Mara Inc, whom are managing the MARA Digital Mall to take and address complaints from customers if they receive low quality products.

“Complaints about products that are supposedly fake or anything at all...dissatisfied about services and all, we will give the best services to the customers,” the rural and regional development minister told reporters at the mall here.

Ismail Sabri said all products sold at the Mara Digital Mall are either distributed or vetted by WGN Scan Sdn Bhd, which he said imports the goods directly from the source countries.

“There are two types of products. First are those distributed by WGN itself, meaning vendors here sell products distributed by WGN.

“Second is those importing goods directly from the source will also have to go through WGN for vetting to ensure they are genuine,” he said.

Ismail Sabri added that the sole company system would guarantee the authenticity of the products as WGN purportedly deals directly with the suppliers.

“So there is no need to worry about no post-sales services for broken smart phones because all services are guaranteed,” he said.
