KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) is ready to broadcast live the debate on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) between 1MDB president and executive group director Arul Kanda and the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) member Tony Pua.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak said the readiness of RTM to broadcast the debate live proved the openess of his ministry.
“We can broadcast live the debate,” he told Bernama here today.
In a statement today, Arul Kanda said he was ready for a face-off with Pua on live television on condition the Petaling Jaya Utara Member of Parliament first resign from the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee.
“I trust he will have the courage to do the right thing and resign from the PAC in order for us to have, in his words, a ‘no holds barred’ discussion on live television,” said Arul Kanda.
Pua issued the challenge in his blog for a “live talkshow” for Arul Kanda to respond to questions on 1MDB. — Bernama
