GUA MUSANG, Oct 23 — Kelantan police today confirmed that the skeletal remains and body found at Sungai Perias, Pos Tohoi here are the remains and body of the Orang Asli children who went missing since August 23.

Kelantan police chief, Datuk Mazlan Lazim said based on deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) tests, the body found on October 7 was Linda Rosli while the skeletal remains found on October 8 was that of Haikal Yaakob, 8.

“We are continuing our search for one more child,” (Sasa Sobrie, 8) he told reporters while overseeing the search and rescue operation at Pos Tohoi here, today.

Mazlan said initially the body found on October 7 was identified as Sasa Sobri, 8, by her father Sobrie Latip, 25 when he came to identify the body at Gua Musang Hospital.

Seven pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tohoi were reported missing after fleeing from their hostel on August 23 for fear of being punished for after bathing in a nearby river without permission.

Two of the victims, namely Norieen Yaakob, 10, and Miksudiar Aluj, 11, were found alive on October 9, after missing for 48 days in the jungle.

On October 16, the Department of Chemistry verified the identity of the body of the child found on October 9, as Ika Ayel, 9, and another skeletal remains found on October 11, as Juvina David, 7.

Mazlan said police have received some new information on Sasa who was still missing, after interviewing Norieen and Miksudiar at Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZII) Hospital in Kota Baharu.
