GEORGE TOWN, Oct 8 — The police have denied the existence of a car wash shop here whose workers were scantily-clad women.

Last night, the shop which offered the services of the women went viral on social media.

Penang police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said upon receiving information on the existence of such an outlet, a police team checked several car wash shops in the state, only to draw a nil.

“This is not the culture of Malaysians. So far, the police have yet to receive any report on the matter,” he told reporters after the state police’s monthly gathering and oath-taking ceremony here today.

Earlier in his speech, Abdul Rahim said the crime rate index in Penang had shown a decrease of 853 cases or 14.34 per cent from January until yesterday, as compared to 5,948 cases recorded in the same period last year. — Bernama
