SUBANG JAYA, Aug 31 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today promised Selangor’s Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders two seats on the federal Cabinet if they manage to regain the state from the federal opposition.
He said he is offering the two posts as there are currently no Cabinet ministers from Selangor.
“If we win Selangor in the next PRU, I will offer two full Cabinet ministers to Selangor Barisan Nasional,” he said when opening the Petaling Jaya-Selatan Umno division meeting, referring to the Malay acronym for general election.
The opposition took over Selangor from BN in the 2008 watershed general elections following a few scandals involving its former mentri besar, Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo and ongoing political issues.
