KUCHING , Aug 29 — The police have allowed protesters to don yellow Bersih 4 T-shirts despite a government ban, as some 200 gathered here today for the mass rally happening in Sarawak, Sabah and Kuala Lumpur.

Chief organiser of Bersih 4 rally Nicholas Mujah said he met with the police this morning to get clarification on the use of yellow Bersih 4 T-shirts by rally-goers, after the Home Ministry issued yesterday a nationwide ban against the yellow garments, the official colour of organisers Bersih 2.0.

Mujah said he was assured that the participants can use the yellow T-shirts so long as they do not cause a disturbance and behave well.

About 200 people have turned up so far at the Song Kheng Hai rugby field as of noon, including police officers.

The Kuching South City Council has approved the use of the Song Kheng Hai rugby field for the Bersih 4 rally.

The rugby field is expected to be full by 5pm when the programmes for the two-day Bersih 4 rally start.
