PAUH PUTRA (ARAU), Aug 26 — University students found participating in the coming Bersih 4.0 illegal assembly are liable to face disciplinary action, in accordance with the university act and procedures.

Public Universities Vice-Chancellor/Rector Committee chairman Datuk Prof Dr Kamarudin Hussin said among measures which could be taken included suspension or expulsion from universities.

“(As such) Students should stay away from being used by certain parties or organisations not recognised by the government and should instead, concentrate on their studies,” he said when asked to comment on the involvement of university students in the assembly.

The home ministry yesterday announced that Bersih 4.0, which planned to hold an assembly at the Merdeka Square on Saturday and Sunday, was an illegal organisation as it was not registered.
