KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 — Former Kulim Bandar Baharu MP Datuk Zulkifli Noordin today lodged a police report against Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar over her speech in Parliament last Tuesday.

Zulkifli, when contacted by Bernama, said the statement by Nurul Izzah in questioning the country’s judiciary over her father, Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s appeal on the conviction and sentence for sodomising his personal aide, which was dismissed by the Court of Appeal last February 10, was ‘highly contemptuous’.

He said the statement by Nurul Izzah was not only a criticism, but an insult to the judiciary, as well as seditious.

Zulkifli said he believed the immunity provided to parliamentary members according to Article 63 Clause (2) of the Federal Constitution was no applicable to Nurul Izzah in this case.
