PETALING JAYA, Jan 14 — Police have made a breakthrough in investigation into the recent fatal row over a parking bay in SS2 involving showbiz promoter Stephen Joseph after a witness came forward with a mobile phone video recording of the incident.

Police have also obtained a closed-circuit television (CCTV) recording from a nearby shop lot.

Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Azmi Abu Kassim said the mobile phone recording and the CCTV footage would be sent to the Bukit Aman forensics department for analysis.

He said police have recorded five statements from traders and diners at the SS2 food court.

Azmi said he was happy witnesses were coming forward to shed light on the incident and three more were expected to give their statements.

On January 5, Joseph, 54, died eight hours after he was punched by a man who was angry that Joseph’s wife had “reserved” a parking space near Medan Selera Malam.

Bukit Aman CID director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said police were taking the case seriously.
