GEORGE TOWN, April 19 — Members of the public wishing to pay their last respects to the late Karpal Singh at Dewan Seri Pinang here tomorrow are advised to come early.

Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow, who is the head of the state funeral committee for Karpal Singh, said the public can do so from 8.30am to 10.15am.

“Yesterday, we set the time at 9 am but we've brought it forward to allow people more time,” he told reporters after surveying the preparations for the state honours funeral ceremony for the late lawyer and Bukit Gelugor member of parliament at Dewan Seri Pinang, here today.

He said about 2,000 to 3,000 people are expected to attend the ceremony.   Karpal Singh died in an accident at 1.10 am Thursday when the MPV he was traveling in collided with a lorry near Gua Tempurung in Perak on the North South Expressway.
