GEORGE TOWN, Nov 27 — An engineer was found dead on a road near the Suntech Sunshine Square building in Bayan Baru here today.
Passers-by found the body of Lau Chuen Wei, 24, near a fast-food restaurant about 8.30am before alerting the police.
The victim, who sustained head and body injuries, was believed to have fallen from the eighth floor of Suntech Sunshine Square.
The police have classified the case as sudden death.
Barat Daya police chief Supt Mohd Hatta Mohd Zain said Lau, from Jalan Raja Uda, Butterworth, had worked as an engineer with a company in Bayan Lepas.
He told reporters: “About 15 minutes before the incident, a parking attendant said he saw Lau dressed in black and looking worried as he paced to and fro on the eighth floor of the building.”
The body was sent to the Balik Pulau Hospital. — Bernama
