NEW YORK, May 16 — Proenza Schouler is making inroads into the beauty industry, via a makeup collaboration with Lancôme.

The New York-based luxury fashion label, which is headed by co-founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, is teaming up with the French cosmetics giant on a limited-edition makeup collection for Fall 2018. The “Lancôme x Proenza Schouler” series will go on sale this July.

“Lancôme has always represented the epitome of luxury beauty products, so it is like a dream come true to be able to collaborate with such an iconic and historic brand,” said McCollough and Hernandez in a statement.

“Borne by the radical approach of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Proenza Schouler fashion is the manifesto of a strong, free femininity,” added Françoise Lehmann, General Manager of Lancôme International. “The idea of ‘empowerment’ is at the heart of their values, just as it has always been at the heart of the Lancôme philosophy.”

The move comes months after Proenza Schouler released its debut fragrance, “Arizona”, which was created with L’Oreal. The perfume, which features white cactus flower accord and creamy orris accord, launched back in February.

Lancôme, a L’Oreal Group brand, has collaborated with multiple fashion designers on beauty projects over recent years, including Alber Elbaz, Jacquemus, Anthony Vaccarello and the Sonia Rykiel brand, amongst others. — AFP-Relaxnews
