PETALING JAYA, April 21 — Westworld — a technologically advanced Wild West-themed amusement park populated by android hosts — may only be open to high-paying guests in the HBO series, but Malaysians need not worry about burning a hole in their pockets to make the trip.

Malaysian fans of the Emmy award-winning television series can now visit the cowboy town of Sweetwater and the advanced facilities featured in the series through an immersive virtual reality (VR) experience.

Open to the public until April 29 at the Blue Concourse of Sunday Pyramid, entry to Westworld is free to all from Monday to Thursday. Pre-registered Astro subscribers will gain free entry from Friday to Sunday.

With an age requirement of 21 to enter, the VR experience is a must-try for fans of the series.

The setting perfectly captures the imagination and lets you feel like you’re a guest entering Westworld through the office of the corporation behind the park in the Delos office.

With a VR set consisting of goggles, headphones and a VR gun, guests also get a taste of being in the position of a host.

Held as part of the promotions for the debut of the new season of Westworld, visitors are also invited to enjoy other themed activities like a mechanical bull ride, a game of ring toss and a videobooth.
