NEW YORK, April 19 ― Cult cosmetics brand Milk Makeup caused a stir this week when it announced the imminent launch of a new mascara containing CBD oil. But the beauty brand isn't the first to incorporate cannabis-related products into its cosmetics.

Kush Mascara

Dubbed “Kush High Volume Mascara,” Milk's new mascara uses cannabis oil to condition the lashes and make for a creamy texture and easy application. The mascara claims to fuse heart-shaped fibers to the lashes to increase the appearance of thickness, while a tree-shaped brush lifts them up. According to Milk, CBD oil makes for an ideal vegan alternative to using beeswax, and the mascara is also cruelty-free. It launches on April 20.

The Body Shop has been championing hemp as a beauty ingredient for years now, and the brand's “Hemp Heavy Duty Lip Care” is just one example of that philosophy. The lip balm contains soothing hemp seed oil enriched with community trade Hemp from France, to soothe and moisturise dry or chapped lips.
