Listen to Reese Witherspoon read first chapter of ‘Go Set a Watchman’

LONDON, July 10 — As the literary world awaits Tuesday’s publication of Harper Lee’s long-awaited second novel “Go Set a Watchman”, The Guardian has posted an audio narration by Reese Witherspoon on SoundCloud.

The Oscar-winning actress reads the first chapter of the prequel to “To Kill a Mockingbird”.

The book follows original protagonist Scout as an adult woman living in New York City in the 1950s.

“Go Set a Watchman” by Harper Lee will be published by William Heinemann on July 14.

The unabridged “Go Set A Watchman” audiobook, narrated by Witherspoon, will be available for download from Cornerstone Digital on the same day.
