PETALING JAYA, July 7 — If you missed out on the previous Lelong — a garage sale organised like an art installation — by Awesome Canteen & Bok Tjuv in May, here’s your chance to get in on some vintage action!
The first sale was so much fun — for the sellers and the buyers — they are doing it again. This weekend.
Come “forage” for more vintage items (again!) at Lelong 2.0. Called “Love Me Longer”, there will be more vendors participating including self-confessed hoarders that the organisers connected with at their last Lelong event.
“Lelong 2.0 is open for vendors to participate, meaning we will have more different collections from different vendors. I can’t say that it will be bigger this round but there will definitely be more things to discover and more variety. You will also get a chance to meet other hoarders who were our first Lelong customers,” said Janice Tyan, co-partner of Awesome Canteen.
There will be all manner of books, stationery, enamelware, furniture, clothing, jewellery, tools, glass containers, cameras and more. Awesome Canteen and Bok Tjuv will be curating the collection.
“Last week, we received our interview movie clips from TV2 for the previous event. After we watched the interview, we found it tempting to have a second round of Lelong.
“There are lots of memories and lots of happiness. We are looking forward to our vendors’ collections too! This round we might be one of the customers and it is going to be a fun day of treasure hunting,” said Tyan.
As you can see, once a collector... always a collector!
