KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 — Malindo Air is to offer an unlimited broad-based web surfing service on its Boeing 737-900ER aircraft.

The hybrid airline has selected Panasonic Avionics and Aeromobile for in-flight communications and officially becomes the first in the region to offer unlimited broad-based web surfing, named Malindo WiFi and Malindo Mobile, the company said in a statement.

The service starts on Monday.

“Malindo Air will begin offering Panasonic’s eXConnect in-flight broadband connectivity and eXPhone mobile phone services powered by Aeromobile,” Malindo said.

“The airline will offer this service without limiting users to a number of applications or websites.”

Malindo Air chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the new services were proof of the airline’s commitment to enhancing current products and services in line with expansion plans in Asia. Passengers can use voice, data, Short Message Service and browsing services from their mobile device to surf the web, send and receive email, stay connected to news and social media, and more. — Bernama
