NEW YORK, Nov 15 — A trio of Star Wars-themed pop-ups are opening across the US today, where guests who secretly root for the villainous will be invited to explore their dark side in advance of the release of the franchise’s next film.

Timed to open exactly a month before the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Darkside Bar opens in New York City, Washington DC and Los Angeles for a limited run.

The pop-up series will include nightly parties that include an “intergalactic Burlesque show featuring performers from many different planets,” Star Wars-themed dance and DJ nights, alien speed dating, and trivia nights, where fans can put their knowledge of the franchise to the test.

Advance tickets are US$33 (RM137) per person and include two cocktails. The theatrical, flame-lit Imperial, for instance, will “waken the forces inside you,” with a blend of spices, rum, maple extract, citrus juice and cayenne.

“When the flame is lit, you’ll realise the truth, that although the force flows through us all, only the darkest corners burn so bright,” drink creators promise.

A “Galaxy”-inspired menu includes soy-glazed octopus skewers and vegan sushi egg rolls, “Bantha fodder.”

Diehard fans are encouraged to manifest their love for the franchise by going in costume.
