KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 — Proton cars sold and registered from May 16-31 this year will include service vouchers equivalent in value to the difference between the current and new price of the car after Goods and Services Tax (GST) is zero-rated.

In a statement, Proton Holdings Bhd said this was done to offer its customers an interim pricing scheme to ensure everybody benefits from the change.

“Proton is supportive of the government’s efforts to reduce the cost of living for the people.

“Despite zero-rated GST only coming into effect on June 1, we have decided to reward our customers immediately as a token of gratitude for their support and in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan,” it added. — Bernama
