KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 — Are you stuck in another endless traffic jam you see no end to? Are you sick of how slow traffic crawls especially when you’re already late for work?

If you answered yes, know that you’re not the only one with the same sentiments. According to traffic and navigation application Waze, Malaysian drivers are among the unhappiest across the world scoring a mere 5.1 average for the “Most Satisfied” index — and quite frankly it’s easy to see why when it takes you three hours to get home from work due to traffic issues on the road.

Netherlands topped the list as having the “Most Satisfied” drivers in the world with a score of 7.9, while Brazilian drivers were the least satisfied with a score of 5.2.

The survey involved 50 million users in 32 countries and 167 metro areas. Countries and cities were ranked based on a single digit score, from one (miserable) to 10 (satisfying), with the results of the survey then divided into six main categories: Traffic, Safety, Road Quality, Driver Services, Socio-Economic, “Wazeyness” and a final overall average being the “Most Satisfied” index.

In the “Wazeyness” category, Malaysia was ranked 27 out 30 countries with an average score of 3.2. Surprisingly, Malaysian drivers are super satisfied with the Road Quality index, ranking it on par Britain, with an average score of 7.4.  Malaysia even beat other countries such as the United States (7.2) and France (7.1).

We’re still lacking in terms of Driver Services like access to gas stations and easy parking with a super low score of just 1.4. Malaysia had a score of 6.6 in the Socio-Economic index, which takes into account the access to cars and impact of gas prices.

For the Safety index which measures accidents, hazards reported, and also weather conditions that makes the road safe to drive or otherwise, Malaysia was ranked a high 7.1 average.
